When the Garcia family fled their war torn homeland, they came to our Y for help to settle into their new community. Mrs. Garcia is under a lot of stress – she’s learning English, taking care of her mentally challenged son Luis and her blind husband, Juan. Luis attends our leadership camp. He’s the most recognizable person at camp; not because of his mental challenges but because of his good spirit and positive attitude. Thanks to your donations, Luis can look forward to joining his friends at the Y.
