During my work for the YMCA, I received a call from Elaine, a single mom, just four weeks before summer camp was set to begin. Elaine was desperate to provide a camp experience for her youngest son, Jonathon. Yet every extra penny she had was being spent to help her eldest son, Sam, break free from a drug addiction. Through our Strong Kids program, we’re able to help Jonathan experience the joy of camp while his brother receives help for his addiction.
